What would you like to know FingerLakes? I will try to answer. I guess I'll start by Male, 39, straight. Is it a choice? No, I'm filled with anxiety most of the time. so in part i feel i will only be a burden for someone. So i don't try. But when i'm feeling more confident i am on apps am trying more often now. In those rare chances, I can talk with women. But generally it feels like an interview or a monolog.

It broke my heart to think Chemda felt suicidal. Life sometimes seems to like to kick you when you’re down.

litlokcm I get it. I also struggled with anxiety and finally just went for it when I was 35 with someone in a position of power and older which was not the greatest decision but I was tired of it feeling like such a "thing", which it isn't. Afterwards, like you, I forced myself to get on some dating apps. Although it didn't directly lead to anything good... it indirectly did - one of my worst dates actually set me up with my current boyfriend who is wonderful. Keep at it, putting yourself out there will eventually pay off!
