I bike to and from school in Tallahassee. Freshman year I got clipped by some bitch from my school. I flew across the hood and landed in the middle of a busy intersection. Needless to say all traffic stopped as I lay on my back and the dumb bitch started to drive off before she decides to stop and see if I was ok. I got got up and just biked away leaving the bitch standing there with all the other drivers glaring at her. Later after the shock wore off I got really mad but realized that leaving her there in the middle of the intersection probably fucked more with her mind then anything I could have done if I had stayed.

There are a lot of dick bike guys out there, fuck 'em. And if you ride a bike and don't wear a helmet you should DIE. Helmets are like safety belts, if you don't use them it's your own damn fault when you die.

The US is a corporate oligarchy. Check out Karmabanque.com
Corporate Oligarchy? That's certainly a new one. I was under the impression that we were a republic, since we can vote, unlike an oligarchy. Does the government serve business interests? Sure, but it also serves many other interests to boot. Hey, if you don't like our fair republic, feel free to go to another nation with even higher tax rates. And the goal isn't to preserve oil supply, it's to combat radical Islam by introducing Western democracy in a hope that this will quell what is quickly becoming an Islamic revolution.

By the way, Karmabanque, seriously? Come on! Economic boycotts don't work against multi-nationals. Try not to believe everything you find on the internet.

Yes, in theory each of us has equal power in the US ie. one person one vote. In practice, money makes most of the decisions in today's political climate. Anyone who points out the inequities in our system is ignored or dismissed by corporate media or vilified for fomenting class warfare. Corporate heads seem to have no conscience anymore...isn't the real class warfare being waged by those who are unfathomably wealthy and continue to clamor for more by insisting they need tax cuts and shouldn't have to pay workers more than five-fifteen an hour? I LOVE AMERICA and don't want to live anywhere else, but I'd prefer to live in an America where the content of one's character is more important than one's bankroll. We clearly have enough wealth to provide for all our citizens, and maybe even take care of some illegal aliens (aka our cheap food supply) while we're at it.

As for exporting democracy, I know of no examples where this has been successful, and see no evidence that we are succeeding in Iraq. If a democracy like Lebanon allows Hezbollah to control its southern region and attack Israel from within its borders, how is democracy an improvement in such a nation? How would this be different from an armed vigilante group occupying the Southern US and terrorizing those across our southern border?
Oh yeah we already have that.

True, the boycott calls are pointless. And the guy has the most annoying voice this side of [insert name of annoying-voiced personality here]. But it is nice to get some economic coverage from outside the bubble of ass-kissing that our major media outlets spew.

On the other hand, Edward Albee claims the best years of his life were as a bike messanger in S.F. Back in the days before faxs of course.
