I think the lawyering isn't going to go anywhere, because it makes this whole situation real in a way Father Malley will be uncomfortable with.

I would vote for more goofiness like putting "cock" into emails in random places (those were hilarious). Or sending him an email that was clearly meant for someone else (maybe revealing some secret Cat wouldn't want him to know), or sending him an email that looks like it was written very drunk containing some bold confession of wrongdoing or horniness or whatnot.
