Because of the Bounty thing I honestly thought he was joking when he said it.

I only just watched the Mel Gibson version of that story about a year ago but of course it's a pretty famous name out here in the South Pacific even if you haven't seen any of the 17 movies about it.

I voted "no," but maybe I was born into the "right" religion, because it was easy to call BS after being raised catholic with a brain the modern era.

Along the same lines as the book Christian recommended, if you're looking for more lit that discusses lifestyle guidance without the evils of religion, I also recommend Buddhism Without Beliefs by Stephen Batchelor (realllly helped my mindset and fighting anxiety) and How Proust Can Change Your Life, also by Alain de Botton.
