For anyone considering it, Depo Provera is usually effective after 24 hrs; almost completly effective after 7 days. It sucks horribly when birth control fails.

On a positive note: If you're ever in doubt, I'd suggest to any women to rush to Planned Parenthood and get the morning after pill (if it's not OTC by now)... apparently there are no side-effects. Well, my friends were lucky that way, at least.

I don't know what the Fed is worried about. Women are not going to rely on a drug that makes them puke as a first line contraceptive.

Tangental, in our state pharmacists can dispense Plan B without a prescription. But pharmacists can refuse to dispense the drug if they have moral objections.
