The name seems free now.

The fact is they didn't look into it at all and should have just apologized for the racist connotation of the band name and they are looking at options and will make an announcement soon of the bands new name that will be more inclusive of all our fans. Instead they had a knee jerk reaction that they have to take back. On the good side Lady A is known by a lot of people that didn't know about them before!

Lady Antebellum was taking a big risk by changing their name for good reason since their fanbase are country fans. The whole industry remembers The Dixie Chicks fiasco very well. They only changed their name recently b/c they have no fans left anyway so might as well do the right thing.

they can't apologize to the real Lady A for the same reason. RWNJs have this big issue with apologies; Bush 1 swore to never "apologize for America, and they ran on a made up "Apology for America" tour that Obama supposedly did. Saying they're sorry would be a nail in the coffin for their career.
