I was 6 or 7 when I hit my younger brother over the head with a whiffle bat. My mom tore into me from knees to ass with the bat. Then we had some special bonding time while I lay on my stomach and she rubbed salve on my legs, all while discussing with my father if I should be taken to the ER, and if so, who was going to do it.

Strangely enough, hearing Keith talk about his childhood helps.

TBH I thought that all our parents beat us up, aren’t they the generation that are still doing it too us via the political system now?

Many of their parents grew up or experienced WW2 with no psychological help and plenty of unresolved anger. If it wasn’t WW2 it was probably some sort of brutal imperial /empire based aggression. No wonder that generation is insane with anger.
