I wouldn't ask for permission if I wanted to change something nig about me but I would talk about it beforehand just to know the opinion.
Because it would also his liberty to hate the change and I would like to know.

Sometimes I listen, sometimes I still do what I want.
It depend on how much I want it and how much he hates the idea. Or the other way around.

I love animal print on a jacket, Mr. Apia hates it. I still wear it. It’s too cool.
He doesn’t like any perfume on himself or others, I hardly ever wear it, also it gives me the opportunity to not spend money, and honestly no one really needs perfume.

I would prefer him to shave the hair under his arms, he doesn’t want to, so I got used to it.
When his head hair looks overgrown, it’s too much for me, because he starts to look like an owl. An unsexy owl.
So I learned to cut his hair and we have no more arguments about it.
Before I asked him 100 times to go and let it have cut, and it took 2-3 months.

So I wouldn’t say it’s all not the partner’s business. But choose your battles. Decide what is really important.

I don't know how it's ok to just surprise your mate with some change like this... I mean I know I would not want to get a tattoo that my wife hated but then I respect her opinion.

On the other hand if I or she already had a bunch of tattoos I wouldn't consider another such an issue that a discussion is necessary.

In no way am I saying we need permission from each other but as partners it seems really disrespectful not to at least ask for an opinion and respect the opinion enough to discuss. If she really wanted to shave her head and I would not like it but I also wouldn't stop her.

Same. I think I would like to know beforehand. This kind of surprise wouldn’t be great.

I had to take a step back from Danny's podcast because he feels that ownership thing about all women. He would often say things like "People with tattoos are trashy and look unintelligent" or "Women shouldn't dye their hair. It just makes them look like they want attention"
To be clear I'm not directly quoting him even tho I used quotes for clarity. I just think it's weird when people have such strong opinions about how strangers look. Who tf are you?

True that he said those things. And I think he admitted that he was wrong about it later. He’s not a hopeless case.

The problem I have with those is it takes like 40 minutes to get hot. So you really need to plan ahead and that’s 40 minutes of it running costing $ but not being used. Still I go back and forth wanting one myself
