Ancient Egypt was about 5000 years ago which is practically yesterday when it comes to humans evolution, they were writing pretty complex stuff. Not to mention the buildings and Society they built.

Magical Thinking!!! that’s where you feel as though your thoughts and words can affect the real world. when i was a kid, my nighttime prayer included a list of individual people i had to mention or something bad might happen to them. that list started to get really long, but i had a compulsion to say every single one every single night. high levels of anxiety keeping up with it.

still have anxiety sometimes if i think something mean. or, like, satisfaction if it’s something i want. it’s not healthy for me to engage in all that “manifest” self-help thinking. goes off the rail.

ooh! other fun example: when my brother was playing his Nintendo, were i to get mad at him, i would wish that his game character would lose a life, BUT if i thought “i hope he loses a life” instead of specifically his game character somehow the universe would Wish Master me and kill him. specificity of language still causes me panic sometimes!!! LOL
