I didn't hear a bell so I'm guessing you guys liked him?

But it was oddly mean?

I don't know??

He seems like a good sport but Keith knocked the metaphorical books out of his hands several times, so I don't know???

Need to find the right books

They're just reading the wrong books. Just like you shouldn't base your favorite movies on Oscar nominations, you shouldn't think a book is good because someone says it's a classic. Old books can be hard to get through because they're hard to relate to--because they're so old!

That was my point. We don’t need these same old books to be taught in basic school.

I read books, also I don’t like old books. And I mostly read non fiction.
Old books love to sneak some racism or good old woman hating on you, no thanks.
Or other isms.

Stoicism

If anyone is curious about Marcus Aurelius, I narrated 2 audiobooks about him. Here's the Audible links:

Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius

and

Marcus Aurelius Stoicism

Those are "bounty" links for narrators, so if there's any problem with them I'll add other links. Both are short and pretty cheap. They were done before I got better gear but it's still worth hearing if you're interested. I should still have promo codes for them too, so just message me for those if you want.

I'm an avid reader. (~1500 books since high school.)

As an adult, I've gone back to read some of the books we were assigned in school that I didn't read as a kid. They are all shit. Every single one of them. There is no reason to shove that crap on kids. If you want them to read, give them something worth reading.

This show basically describes an English major lol. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I graduated high school but not going to college wasn’t an option and I needed to get out of the house. My reasoning was “I like to read so let’s do English”. So pretentious. Every non English major class I got As easily on my essays-English major classes it was a struggle to get Bs because professors made us read the most boring pretentious shit. I got into an argument once about how the curtains where just red and didn’t represent everything.

I could get past the first page of that Ayn Ryand book. I haven’t actually read a lot of the classics such as Jane Austen, the glass jar.

Good thing one of my college friends got me on the path to social work because I wasn’t happy with where my degree was taking me…
