You don't think the FBI's watching this site?

Face it, SOME parent found this show by now and alerted the feds. Don't get me wrong, I love the show. But the only reason K&Ch been able to do and say the things they do is because they're still under the radar, despite their Alexa numbers.

All it takes is one retard calling the cops and having them listen to Baby's First Abortion or a 12-year-old girl caller talking sex with Keith. Then, end of fucking show, a few hundred hours of community service for Keet (like Boy George but more fame), and probably a list of our email and IP adresses sent for "review".

Here's a JPEG I found on Fark.com to get the ball rolling:

removed after better judgement hit me. trust me, even Fark.com users have bad taste.

Come get us.

It's not me I'm worried about... I'm not taking calls, to a LIVE audience, discussing sex life with pre-teens. Keet needs to reel it in a bit. Chemda even knows it, just listen to her reaction when his questions get a little too personal...

I know K&Ch are adjusting to the newfound fame of KATG.. they now drink "Soda", in reaction to the idea that their words can bring in money. They should also learn that even on the censor-free 'net, your words can hand your ass to you.

They need to also realize that Keet can't be WHAA?-surprised when an enterprising mother or father, who does know how to use iTunes to save a backlog of KATG's 340+ shows for research, SUES them when their daughter has an abortion because Chemda said it was a good idea or if Keith says just the wrong thing and their site is pulled from iTunes or Podcast alley.

Have a set of ground rules. No callers under 18, period. Hearing about teen problems like abortion from underage kids can actually be educational and thought-provoking, but only on NPR. As adults we legally take responsibility for our own actions, which places blame solely on us if we decide to do something stupid based on a KATG call. A 16-year-old only has to brumski the wrong tattletale rich kid at school to start causing the show serious headaches. And southern white Protestant parents give two shits about your current income when they come after KATG for mental anguish and when-the-fuck-ever they sue for.

Start reenforcing that this is an adult-themed podcast. You can't stop junior high kids from listening, or even calling in or chatting while pretending to be 18 or over. You can however use common sense to weed out callers and comments from people you suspect to be too young to participate. This isn't about covering moral high ground, its about covering your show's ass from liability.

Yeah, you make a few good points - I don't feel comfortable when the 12-year-olds call in, but I also can't remember Keith discussing sex with any of them. I also don't remember Chemda telling anyone to abort their baby.
But yeah, most of us don't like hearing the kids on the phone, and I particularly don't like having them in the Chat.

But I still think that the chances of a lawsuit are extremely remote, and any defence in this fake lawsuit would be
"So why did you allow your son/daughter to access adult material? Don't you care what your kids are doing on the internet?"
Keith and the Girl is marked as "Explicit" in iTunes. If a minor accesses it, it's the parents' fault.
But yeah, they should try to cut down the interaction with the kids - won't be easy though.

I hope it never happens. But the way some shows go, they get pretty damn close. Hell it seems they're more scared of the RIAA than pissed-off mothers. How many old episodes of KATG had copyrighted songs at the end? If pedophilia doesnt scare Keet, it seems the RIAA might, since almost a month ago they tried featuring independent artists. Its a great idea and a good way to keep the end-song format of the show without breaking laws. Did KATG suffer because "This is the Trigger" wasn't played at the end? No, in fact good indy bands now have a decent chance of reaching new audiences because of the show.

In the same way, I think they should seriously think about how to keep KATG an awesome show without exposing themselves (pun lol) to lawsuits from assholes with money.

iTunes? Internets? Most parents can't even keep up with what is on regular TV, never mind cable or the internet.

Last night I had dinner with my sister and my brother-in-law. They're the same age as me. They have three kids. I tried explaining to them about a podcasting project I'm working on. Both of these humpers went to college. Good schools. After about half an hour explanation about the importance of communites (forums, etc...) in the development of a podcast, my sister looked me dead in the eye and out of the blue announced that blogs were overrated.

She'll never know how close she was to being kicked in the box.

Worldwide internet "penertration" runs at about 16%. By law of averages, that means that 98%+ of the world population should still have a rotary phone. Because they're ignorant assholes. Nice people, but ignorant assholes all the same.

Screw Mac/Ipod

Even though Itunes is the easiest software I've ever used to attain music. It was a real bitch to get it onto the ipod. Furthermore, I still can't figure out how to get my old videos onto an Ipod. Mac really knows how to make things pretty and marketable to the masses, but it isn't user friendly enough for me.

Go Zune, Zen Vision, Toshiba Gigabeat, Go Microsoft!! Atleast with Microsoft I know when I'm getting robbed.

pay extra to dock your iPod?

I'd rather go back to CDs than use an iPod
