I managed to get an incredible score of 5 on the Alllooksame.com game... I'm below average!!! Funny thing is, I spent last year living in China, you'd think I wouldn't be so crap at it. Anyway, did anyone managed to beat my score?

Unless you live in an area with a diverse Asian population, the only place we see people identified by their race is either TV or movies. But since the same fucking actors play different Asian characters, we out of fucking luck!

I took the test a long time ago and got an 8. I lived in the Philippines as a kid and my wife is Vietnamese. My son's school is 1/4 Asian with a lot of Koreans but plenty of Chinese and even Malaysians. You'd think I'd do better. We go to back to school night and my wife and I both try to guess the nationality. We don't do very well.

Try it with Europeans. I'd never be able to guess German vs Polish vs Russian. It's too hard. People are more different than alike. Or vice versa.

I could tell once I heard their accents. But when you're talking American whites it's even harder to figure out where they came from because we're all interbred mutts now. I'm mostly German, but also English, Swiss and Scottish. I come from a long line of farm people, which isn't surprising considering that I'm from Wisconsin. But we got out of the farming business two generations ago so I've never had to milk a cow.

For that guy trying to figure out "what kind of Asian" his coworker is, he should have an Asian friend meet her, because asians can usually tell the difference. Oh yeah, and there are] other types of asian besides Chinese, Japanese and Korean. For example, it's usually Vietnamese that do nails.
