3503: Where in the World Is Chemda?
We found Chemda! Keith talks with Chemda, who is currently working from Málaga, Spain, and the two explain the state of the entire world. They talk of Super Bowl LVI, the halftime show, and the art of lip syncing. The duo discusses the Academy Awards’s blatant blasphemy regarding Spider-Man, and Chemda is your tour guide to all things Europe.

The secret was contacting them on Facebook messenger before arriving email was ignored.

And thanks for calling me a hero. I came to Germany by the age of 12.

Great show
After 17 years, you two are still great together.

There's a reason Keith hasn't heard of 'Drive My Car' - subtitles, in the Best Picture category. How dare!!!
Licorice Pizza is the one with Philip Seymour Hoffman's son and a third of HAIM, and an age gap romance(?) some people would find problematic. But not you guys, I'm sure. I agree about Don't Look Up winning. People who want to think they're smart love this movie. |
This one takes me BACK. The second ep of KATG I ever heard was #182, back when Chemda was skyping in from the road like some kind of G-d dang rock star!
EDIT: Just checked back on that show and this is in the notes: Foreshadowing: Chemda recaps her tour so far, where she played in a hippie town whose water is laced with lithium (and whose residents offer people weed, though Chemda doesn't smoke) - how times have changed! Quote:
Also, the Academy is famous for turning up its nose at comedies - especially anything as broad, straight and mainstream as Don't Look Up. Like superhero movies, they're pretty much never even nominated - let alone winners - so if Don't Look Up wins it'll have bucked a major trend and mean the Academy has somehow gotten off their high horse when it comes to goofy comedies. |
If this was a pilot for the Chemda in a different city/country version of the show, it was a big success. I selfishly dislike the idea that studio days are over, but if one result from Covid is that Chemda gets to live her best life, I'll deal.
Speaking of studio days, I'd like to commend the lack of dropouts on your zoom interviews. I'm subscribed to 20+ shows usually and they all have more tech issues than you guys, even the ones with multi-million dollar funding. |
I haven’t seen any of the Oscar nominated movies but I’ve seen 4 of 5 animated movies that are nominated.
Im here for Raya and the last dragon. It’s beautiful. But I’ve enjoyed every one of them honestly. |
I used to love traveling. Now Corona changed me. Thinking about leaving my home makes me feel insecure. I hope I will enjoy traveling one day again.
