Haha, Chemda projecting hard that it's not the language barrier but that it's race that makes the Spaniards cordial to Xerxes. Seriously, he gets a break from racism by leaving NYC to go to Malaga SPAIN, ahahahahahahahah!?!?! Maybe this is what you experienced but it's FAR more likely this is a projection on race because it's so central in your mind but in reality it had way more to do with language since the likelihood is FAR higher that he would experience MORE racism there given all the factors and cultural differences, etc..

The same Malaga Spain that keeps not allowing black people into restaurants, clubs, etc. The same Spain that every season has a racism problem at their football games for throwing bunches of bananas on the field at black players and making monkey sounds etc. The same Spain that was the linchpin in the slave trade yet still only has a ~2% black population (think about that). For reference NYC is ~25% black. The same Spain that won't accept specifically black refugees...it goes on.

Congrats on 17 years! I'm very glad to have been here for about 14 of them. Every time I get a new podcast app I make sure KATG is my first subscription. Y'all have been a constant in my life, and an inspiration in many ways over the years. Thanks for what you do!

Happy 17, you're almost legal to vote.

Been listening since the shows were in the 40s, went to the 2010 live show meet in NY. A lot of history, learned rites of passage (KATG shirt = BJs), and memories.
