3520: Vessel for Love w/ Ashley Gavin

Ashley Gavin joins KATG to help discuss Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins’ drug overdose, Dolly Parton being up for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction whether she likes it or not, and the 2022 Academy Awards featuring The Slap with Will Smith and Chris Rock. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.

Pleeeeeaaaasssseeee tell me your thoughts if you picked Team Will.

The standing up for someone? A joke about a disease was too much?

PLEEEAAASSE tell me?

Will Smith made it about him but it's really about Jada.
No one else's opinion matters.

It's weird how many people are making it about themselves.

It was me - maybe the only vote for Will. I'm listening to Rod discuss this on TBGWT and I agree with him -- there's just too much pearl-clutching about this.

Hm. I heard that show. We somehow heard different things.

Yeah, he did touch on a lot of things. But also the back story about Chris and Jada, Will's having witnessed his mother being abused, Etc. I think there is room for not going so hard on Will. And also, pearl-clutching. Honestly this is not the worst example of 'violence' ever seen. It was one guy losing control and being remorseful after.

bullshit. you’re really minimizing this “adult” open palm smacking a colleague in front of a room of all their other colleagues during a live broadcast. he damn well knew better and, frankly, you should, too.

laying your hands on someone like that is assault. full stop.

Frankly, I'm entitled to my opinion. The situation is nuanced. I'm just tired of the judgmental, holier-than-thou vibe about this.

I hear ya. I think they should fight for charity

Sparrow 03-28-2022 11:15 PM

pfffft, nuance.
