Regardless, it was a joke. Maybe a bad joke, maybe a tasteless joke, but a joke nonetheless. And for the record, no matter what venue you see a comedy show it, be it Bob's Laugh Shack in some bodunk town or MSG or an award show, if you sit in the first couple of rows, you're putting yourself in a position to be pointed out and ribbed; if you don't come with that understanding and are cool with it or have thick skin, you're going to have a bad day. Everyone is subject to ridicule.

Fact is, Will is married to a narcissistic sociopath who has his balls in a glass jar and it's probably eating away at him inside. He laughed at the joke, looked over at Jada, realized she wasn't having it, and felt he had to stand up and "be a man." Instead, he showed his ass.

Chris is a standup guy of not pressing charges and as Jim Carrey said, probably doesn't want the hassle of it all.

And all the assholes who applauded him with a standing ovation, spineless and weak; his ass should have been removed from the place and cover the win with a half-assed statement.

The shitty part about all of this is how this has outshined everything else. It was the first black-produced Academy Awards, Coda rightfully winning a number of awards, Ariana DeBose becoming the first queer Black woman to win an Oscar; but everyone is talking about this.

If Will wasn't having it, he should have bit his tongue and approached Chris privately after the show but instead he decided to annihilate his good guy reputation.
