I'm glad you have Polish friends! I don't think I do. ( I was too young when we left and I didn't meet any naturally here. Besides the internet I don't have black friends either because so few black people live here)

I imagine the experiences of black people in Germany are much different than those of us in the U.S. but sadly probably the same in a lot of ways.

Some recent stories out of the UK are making it clear that some black experiences are universal. Especially in white majority countries.

I dont know about that experience.

We have racists here for sure, why shouldn't it be the case.

But also we have a different society with for example private schools not being a big thing, the kids all go to a ok/ good public school with sufficient funding, college is free and we have universal health care.
And we have less police brutally because our police isn't killing many people in general. 11 last year I saw somewhere.

But to really judge it I would need to talk to a black person who lives here about it ideally someone who also lived in the US.
And as I said I have no black friends.

Now I remember something helpful. On the black guy who tips they had a black woman, I think her name is Angela? ( will check it out) and she lives in my part of Germany. She talked about her experience and as I remember it was overall good. She created a network of black women in Europe and has a podcast about it.

The stereotype of the eastern European woman= sex worker is very common. Last time I came across it was when Michael Che commented on the Ukraine crisis and said something like I asked my Russian friend about it and she said I don't get paid for talking. Haha. Got it? Because she is eastern European she gets paid for fucking and sucking only.
