One of my kids friends mother is American from Louisiana ( luckily a sane Trump hater)
She said when she says something is ok, Germans think that means 80-90% good, but she means it only 50% good.
Because if she wanted to say something is 80-90% good she would have to say in American speech :ITS THE GREATEST THING IVE EVER SEEN, I LOVE IT AND IM DYING RIGHT NOW FROM EXCITEMENT.

You will not experience something like this here. You would be safe.

Family lore says, when my grandfather asked my grandmother if she wants to marry him she said : “ whatever, fine”
They stayed married for over 50 years and the relationship seemed good.

That’s the level of excitement I’m talking about.
