Let's outline what's "Not Cool". What's not cool is investing time, money, and resources into something, only for everything you built and supported to be taken away for absolutely no reason and turning it into an embarrassing mess.

BrianA's question was the same as mine, which was never answered. Everything was fine. Why was it moved? Because Michael can do Windows programming? There are ways of hosting parts of the site on Windows, even if that is the case.

So "Michael is kind of joining us". That of course is cool, but in the process, don't screw everything up and then belittle people for telling you about the problems. Your fans, me included, are who built and promote you every single day. Take every message expressing concern or trouble seriously.

The show is free so why bitch, right? Well, the web hosting was free, the Email hosting was free, the old show feed was free, the live show hosting was free (which obviously includes all of the after shows, the 48 hour podcast, etc), every mass mail was free, every web update I did was free, every software upgrade to secure the site was free, every poker tournament I arranged that gave your listeners thousands of dollars was free, the license for the forum software was free, the license for the chat software was free. Need I go on?

I was happy to do all of it to get you guys rolling to the point you could afford to pay for all these services. I didn't expect a dime in return, all that was my investment to KATG. Now it's gone for absolutely no reason. Well, I shouldn't say that, the reason was so Michael could work on Windows. This could not have been handled worse. The ultimate slap in the face was giving you all of the things I did and you move to competition for no reason. You hate shady things. You don't think this is shady?

The way it was explained on the show was more than I was even told. "He wants to do some work with Keith and The Girl. In order for him to do this a lot easier, he wanted to move hosts"

Huh?? First of all, we do Windows hosting and there was no reason to move everything. Secondly, parts obviously do not work. So instead of breaking things in exchange for "doing some work", tell me what needs to be done and I'll get it done, just like it has been for almost two years. Whatever wheel he's trying to reinvent could have been done on the server it was on. It's not like we haven't been developing web sites for over 10 years. I wasn't saying that things would break if moved to Windows for the hell of it and would have thought you'd know me well enough to trust that and do things another way.

Keep downplaying it guys, yeah it "just needs to be cleaned up a bit". If things were tested, things would not have to be cleaned up. I don't understand what the rush was. Were replies tested? Were attachments tested? Were logins tested? Was the live show feed tested? Was Email even tested? What I was going to do yesterday is login and fix that part within 5 minutes. That was no big deal. I can't, so while you wait for support to answer, nobody gets topic replies. That's not the end of the world. More importantly though, nobody can signup because the Email confirmations aren't sending either. The only thing that was done right was importing the old forum posts, which I told him how to do.

Heh, the 2 posts that were read was because I edited the original one and it posted twice. Another problem that was reported. And of course if you read the posts in a shitty, snide way out loud, that's exactly how they sound that they were intended to be.

Chemda mentioned "if you made it clear to us, whatever, let's talk about it". Umm didn't we try that? I asked question after question about why this was happening and what you wanted to accomplish, and nothing was answered.
So let's talk about it? You didn't. Michael obviously had a lot more planning than the 3 day warning I had before everything moved.

The reason the HUAR site is down is because you told me you were moving the domains. It wasn't done intentionally and it's very offensive to me that you would think that, much less say it. Typically when you say you're moving the domains, you're moving the domains. You did not tell me you were moving only some of the domains, and I still don't know what domains moved and which didn't. That's fairly important to actually communicate that don't you think? The files are still on the server, just login to the control panel and get them. I didn't delete anything because I knew this process would get completely hosed. It was obvious from a mile way.

If you need help fixing things I can help as time allows, like I told you I would. I don't have admin access and since it was obviously removed as soon as the site was moved, you obviously did not need my help. Me helping from this point on is like asking me to fix the plumbing inside a house from across the street.

So that's that I guess. It's your baby now Michael. Good luck with whatever "improvements" you're planning, and I mean that.

Quad, this is an eloquence I have never seen from you and I think it perfectly got your point across. This is one of the few multi-paragraph posts I've read completely in a long time and I definitely cringed in parts.

Don't think I'm being some weird kind of kiss-ass or anything, but I believe I read your two quoted posts correctly inside my head; they sounded more miffed than angry, as if you felt like you were treated unfairly, which I figured was probably true.

I will probably never stop listening to this show, but I did feel like Keith and Chemda were reacting unfairly on this show when I first heard it. That doesn't mean I'll stop listening, it just means I'm not always gonna side with Keith and Chemda on every issue. On this one, I think you're legitimately in the right and feel deservedly slighted.

Now before you all start saying, "Cubby's a big sensitive fag!," let me just say that I don't want Quad to leave the show and the forums because of what happened, so I think he needs to know that we don't all hate him just because Keith and Chemda said so. Stick around DJ Quad; who else will pull out all the badass one-liners.
