Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli:

Why do mafia hit men drop their guns at the scene of a crime?

On Sunday's episode of The Sopranos, the Italians shoot a man they have mistaken for New York boss Phil Leotardo. Later, Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri is killed at the model-train store. Both times, the killers drop their guns at the scene of the crime. As Clemenza says in The Godfather, "Leave the gun, take the cannoli." How come mafia hit men always drop the guns?
They don't want to be caught with the weapon while fleeing the scene. If they've taken precautions to keep the gun from being traced back to them, it won't be much help to the police. In that case, it's better to leave it for the cops.

All well and good, but the point was that the guys on the Sopranos were not wearing gloves/wiping down the gun.

Does anyone else think like me? I mean when you watch the guy trying to survive in the desert in Man vs. Wild.. don't you just sense the camera crew, director, lighting and sound guy following him around while he acts the fool eating bugs and drinking dirty water?

and... when I see these photos I think.. Ok.. fake posed shots... for a CAMERAMAN... who took the photos.. not saying that they are professional, but someone has a flash in these girls faces and they know it. They love the controversy...I don't know, but it drives me crazy... who is holding that camera?

This is so true. My favorite leave-the gun-at-the-scene-of-the-crime moment takes place in The Godfather after Michael Corleone puts a bullet through Capt. McCluskey's forehead. Although Clemenza, having prepared the gun with a special tape that does not leave fingerprints, specifically instructed Michael to just let the gun drop to the floor (so that people would think he still had it), Michael drops the piece with intense dramatic flair--with chutzpah! He didn't just mess up an Italian resaurant (I wonder what the health code has to say about mob hits? That's got to be a violation.), he made a statement--pow!

I said it a long time ago... When you turn 33, quit playing basketball.

It's too easy to get hurt.

"It's a positive thing, you idiot old bitch!"

Ah shit, you made me spit my food out on my lap.

Also, I've been hearing "pussy" said on TV without being bleeped, usually during The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
