All right, this whole Knocked Up discussion hits a little close to home. I became pregnant after a wild night out on the town -- I had only known the father for a couple of weeks. He wasn't chubby like the guy in the movie but he was balding. It definitely was his sense of humor that kept me coming back; I recognized then that his positive attributes far outweighed the negative.

Fast forward: we are married, have two kids and will be celebrating our 12th anniversary in October. Things aren't perfect but they turned out all right. He is a great dad, husband and provider. It may sound like a silly idea for a movie, but it can and does happen in real life.

Okay, none of this really happened, but I bet it could have.

Why, oh, why did you pussy out on this?

This would have made the best thread of apologies/awkward conversation. Then you could have dropped the fact that it's fake and we could have all had a laugh and a half.

Ah, the regrets of someone else's life...

Another awesome show that these guys did was a short lived dramedy called Freaks and Geeks. Very funny. It's where my name and avatar come from.

I say that the plot of knocked up is believable. Girls in general are cucoo mcgoo and act irrationally. They are slaves to their emotions. I'm not hating its just a fact. Add in pregnant hormones and you can throw logic out the window.

This situation can then lead to hilariousness which it did.

Seth Rogan said recently that they are making conservative films that are disguised as liberal with the raunchiness.

40 year old virgin has a guy who doesn't have sex until he is married.

knocked up has premarital sex and lots of drug use but when its get down to it the guy tries to do the honorable thing by proposing marriage. Right or wrong this is a very conservative sentiment.

I agree, Freaks & Geeks was a super good show. That might be one reason I was so disappointed with Knocked Up. I know these guys can do better.

I loved the football story, the way Chemda was so little-kid-hyped but so conscious not to be the stereotypical attention-seeking-retard-girl asking 100 questions. Chemda's getting high story was hilarious too, especially the bit where Keet pretends to hook up the crappy movie for her and drags his ass til she forgets.

I get where Spook was at when he was finding it a pain in the ass to stop his creative projects for a minute to eat (and I guess where the hardcore asian-gamers get to), I used to do the same shit before I quit being creative. Once I started writing and recording a demo going to the toilet seemed like a major imposition and fixing something even semi-healthy to eat was the biggest pain in the ass. I was ready to buy nappies and hook up to a drip. Would've made for sweet album art or promo photos for my press kit at least.

I gotta agree that the trailer for Knocked Up was horrendously lame, even as a fan of Rogan/Apatow/Rudd et al. I can totally believe the people who say they laughed enough to make up for cutesy bullshit premise, and I can see me being one of those people when it's finally released out here in paradise, but whatever way you cut it it's still a cutesy bullshit premise.
