What about Angel?

From about the middle of season two and onward I think it rivals and in some instances surpasses Buffy.

Thank g-d for Joss Whedon. And Toy Story was great too.

I think there's a spark that travels through Joss Whedon's tv series'. Buffy was great up to season 5. Then the spark jumped to Angel for season 3 & 4. Then it went to Firefly, and then it ran out. Chronologically it doesn't work out perfectly, but pretty close. I really liked Angel season 3 & 4, I agree that it might have been better than Buffy.

One positive aspect to Firefly getting canceled so early is that it died young and beautiful. Angel was losing me by the end, and I thought Buffy was downright terrible the couple of years before it ended. I obviously coulda gone for more Firefly, but Joss' shows don't always age well.

Btw, I think we're nerd friends now.

Geez reading this felt like you crawled in my head or something. This is exactly how I felt about all three series. I think another season or two of Firefly would have been great but if he was given the chance, I'm afraid of the crap he might make of it in the end and I'm glad that I have the one great season and a movie to accompany it.

The guy has no money, is basically homeless, can't hold down a job and gets drunk almost every night. The Girl gets frustrated and angry about the drinking, the inability to hold down a job and lack of money, which leads to stress on the relationship. And this guy is able to use his charm and humor to diffuse these situations which leads to he and the Girl working things out. Now I ask you, how on Earth can the public be asked to believe that two people with such problems would have a relationship (lasting 5 years and counting) which would lead to a very enjoyable show....err...I mean movie. I just cannot accept that a situation with the above facts could be entertaining.

"Knocked Up" has some funny parts. But let's face it, its not the Cinema Masterpiece that Crazy/Beautiful was.
Zackly- still if they said it is shit IT'S SHIT where's the loyalty? You all suck

I can understand why KATG did not like Knocked Up.
They would have related if the goofy guy needed a place to stay and the chick was more handsome than hot.

The simple evolution of the relationship is something most of us go through. What we find is not what we thought we were looking for. I think neither compromised, they just discovered what they were truly looking for is right in front of their eyes, just like KATG. Does Keith dress differently? Why?
As far as spooky being whipped - he is just too cool for capital letters. He will always be some chicks puppet.

Sadly, I can see the truth in Knocked up. It's totally happening to one of my friends right now. She's the hot business woman with a good job, and he's the loser with no redeming qualities who's trying to start a business that will never work out to anything cause he has no work ethic. And now she stays over at his place which looks like the apartment that Trainspotting was shot in. Some smart chicks are just stupid when it comes to real life and need the drama of bad relationships.
