i don't understand this bizarre rule about people not being allowed to take home alcohol they brought to a party...
i bring all sorts of things to parties to share with people and make the party better.. if the party already has these things or i brought more than was needed... i take it home after the party's done. i can understand it being weird if the person only brought one bottle of wine or if the person is leaving the party early.. but if you bring a gallon of vodka and there's 70% of it left when the party's over.. why would you just leave that? i've even had people call me and ask me to come pick up alcohol when i do leave a bunch behind... because it's taking up all the room in their freezer and they're never going to drink it all.. i feel like i must be misunderstanding... if i was going to a party where i knew people would be weird about me taking alcohol home, i wouldn't bring nearly as much.. it seems like being anal about stuff like that could totally ruin a party... i dunno, i really feel like i must have misunderstood...

Nope, you didn't misunderstand, and we'll read this tonight. Feel free to call in when we do if you want to show everyone why it's actually acceptable to leave with the gifts you brought.

Simple, when you bring shit to a party it's considered a gift. You don't take gifts back. This reminds me of when my cousin was in college and went on a date. His date ate only half of her meal so he asked the waitor to box it up and he took her meal home with him.

honestly i don't like people leaving shit over at my house after a party. fuckin take it home, who gives a shit.
the real question is, why are you allowing people to go home when there's still beer left? |

It's a simple rule when it comes to house parties and booze. If you are invited to a party you assess how much you are likely to drink. You then take that amount plus a margin (the margin is dependant on how many fucktards you know are going to be there who will either come with less booze than they drink, leave with booze or generally be arseholes).
You then enjoy yourself at the party and at some point stagger out. Hopefully when you leave your host has made a nett increase in booze. You have been using their place after all.
