Keith - you just STOPPED using crack? I'm sure others would be interested to hear more about why you think you were able to stop using so ?easily? Perhaps your audio book will speak to this in greater detail (which, btw, I think will be your best selling item to-date), but I'm sure many before you have continued to use crack well after having experienced rapid heart beats or worse...

He's spoken about it before. He quit because he had the presence of mind to realize that he would spend the rest of his increasingly short life chasing the crack feeling and do whatever it took to get it. He chose to not continue doing it rather than going down the obvious path of addiction and death.
Keith knows exactly what kind of asshole he is and doesn't confuse himself with thoughts of 'I can handle it, man.' Just like many other thoughts, that one is banned from Keith's head.

OK, but what makes Keith able to just quit because he says so? Is everyone else who gets hooked on crack just weak? Statistically, that just doesn't fly. I've heard of Addictive Personalities, so presumably there are those who fall into the opposite extream. If so, I think it's time for another episode of Super Hero Keith M...

I have tried addictive drugs once and then felt guilt enough to quit.
Sometimes it is just personality and the things in your life that can take the need away.And fill that void with something positive or Something personal that you will not want to go back to that place

That Podcast alley comment is wonderful. All this time I thought I liked dirty jokes because of the local culture that I grew up in. It turns out I'm just dumb as a dog's balls. Oh well! I can only hope that I caught it early enough to one day learn big words like encapsulate.

I think that a lot of people don't know they're addicted. They're operating under the impression that they are able to quit when they want. Also, not everyone who becomes addicted to drugs is an idiot, but most of the addicts I see weren't ever the brightest match in the box.

All you have to do is look at the increasing number of fat people in society to know that statistically there are probably more weak-minded people out there who will delude themselves trade a few minutes of pleasure for a lot of pain and hardship. No one who weighs 600 pounds and can't get out of bed wanted to be that way; they got that way one fucking twinkie at a time by not accepting the fact that they are personally responsible for their own life...I think its almost the same way with crack..one hit at a time, you lose control, and keep promising yourself it's the last...To me the people who don't get hooked on this aren't strong, they're just realists.
