Never really cared for the guy but recently I'd cleaned the slate. Fuck what he did in the past, forgiveness is part of humanity right? Then this. I'm going to suggest something that may be stupid, but it's been nagging at the back of my mind all day.
Is it possible that this is a metaphorical action? Given that "Starr" is not his actual name (Shuler, isn't it?) and that he's got a job in another city now, and given the history he's built for himself between KaTG and NLO, is it possible that he's just killed off the Nick Starr "persona" and is gone off to start some kind of clean slate for himself? That would explain why he has not responded to anything directed to Nick Starr...calls, messages, etc...as well as why his car has not been found.
You could say that he's being selfish because he's causing anguish for anyone who cares about him (see D&D boards), but his attitude seems to be that his "life as Nick Starr" has been nothing but anguish for him, so maybe he doesn't care.
I don't know....it's a tinfoil hat kind of thing, but it makes a strange sort of sense.
