Thank fuck for Thursday episodes. Patrice always keeps it hilarious.
Hopefully this one will have less talk about Chemda's family (I get it, they're really conservative), that sort of ruined the last two episodes for me anyway. Last edited by PinballFortress; 12-11-2008 at 10:02 PM. |

I'm not sure of this is all of Australia or just in Victoria but until VCE (years 11 and 12) you get marked from NS to High Distinction in class and on reports you get the usual letter grades. However, A is working 2 years above what the standard for you age is. B is one year above, C is the average, D one year below, etc.
Also, my friend used to get her work corrected in green pen in primary school because the teacher thought red was "unhealthy" |

Couldn't agree more on 'pussy'fying kids! The red pen issue is just the start!
I was one of the last of my generation to grow up in high school in fear of hazing. First day of high school, seniors drove around with water balloons hitting freshmen. Not a big deal, but some of the balloons - they actually filled with bleach! I never got a bleach-balloon, but I did get hit with a water filled one on my way to school on the first day. While I hated it at the time, it made me respect/fear my immediate elders. By the time I became a senior, hazing was so feared by parents and faculty - that we actually had a good portion of my small town's police force perusing the high school on first and last day of the school year. I've never seen a more snobby and stuck-up group of freshmen in my life. And they're only getting worse with each generation that isn't taught a valuable life lesson. |

Red pens banned ... holy fuck-a-doodle-do! How about red glitter pens?
This episode reminds me of why I quit teaching. I was told numerous times that I was too strict and that my students had too much fun. Somehow my trying to explain the incongruity of these two statements never went over well with the administration. Hilarious show. Last edited by motownguy; 12-12-2008 at 08:44 AM. |
