Complicated way
Download the Tor, Privoxy and Vidalia package and install them
Download TorButton for Firefox or manually put the Tor proxy details into IE
Start Tor, wait 5 mins and go to http://katg.libsyn.com
If the site loads, you're browsing through a PC somewhere in the world that can access libsyn - download the show as you normally do.
If it doesn't, wait 5 mins and Tor will rotate onto another exit PC.
Repeat the last two steps until you get the show

Simple way
Add these four lines to the bottom of your hosts file (C:\WINDOWS DIR\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on a WinXP/2K machine - open it with notepad)
216.246.5.5 media.libsyn.com
216.246.5.5 katg.libsyn.com
205.234.175.175 cache.libsyn.com
205.234.175.175 libsyn.cachefly.net
Restart your browser and get the show as normal

Thank you Jesus!

Now if I can just figure out how to access my other Libsyn shit!

You can access all of libsyn's pages

- Get the libsyn URL you want to access and strip it of http's and /'s so you're left with just the domain - whatever.libsyn.com
- Go to http://network-tools.com and put it in
- Get the result and add it to the bottom of your hosts file

E.g.
- the 7th podcast on the "what's hot" list on libsyn.com leads to http://boxcars711.libsyn.com/
- Put boxcars711.libsyn.com into http://network-tools.com and you get
Code:
208.68.232.12 [boxcars711.libsyn.com]
- add 208.68.232.12 boxcars711.libsyn.com to your hosts file

Here's some that work from Europe
Code:
127.0.0.1 localhost
216.246.5.5 media.libsyn.com
208.68.232.12 katg.libsyn.com
205.234.175.175 cache.libsyn.com
205.234.175.175 libsyn.cachefly.net
38.100.193.69 www.libsyn.com
208.68.232.12 support.libsyn.com
208.68.232.12 libsyn.com
216.246.5.4 forum.libsyn.com
I think libsyn's podcasting sub domains are all going to end up resolving to 208.68.232.12 most of the time. You'll get different IP's for whatever.libsyn.com on different attempts as thery're using round robin DNS - e.g. if you put boxcars711.libsyn.com into network-tools.com again you might get 38.100.193.69. Put whatever you get into your hosts file, restart your browser or SHIFT refresh and it should work. If not restart your browser again and SHIFT refresh and eventually you'll get the site you want. If you want the mp3's cache.libsyn.com and libsyn.cachefly.net need to point to 205.234.175.175

When Libsyn's DNS is working across the internet put your hosts file back to what it was - which should be just one line (you can trash the # comments)
Code:
127.0.0.1 localhost
--- EDIT ---
Or ...

Easier than manually adding loads of stuff individually to your hosts file...
- Add
Quote:
205.234.175.175 cache.libsyn.com
205.234.175.175 libsyn.cachefly.net
to your hosts file for the mp3's and media files
- add the IP address of one of libsyn's own DNS servers as your 1st DNS server, and your ISP's as the your 2nd
- Libsyn and the rest of the net should work
If you have any problems, set your DNS servers back to your ISP's (the setting for "Obtain DNS server automatically")

Libsyn's DNS
Quote:
ns1.libsyn.com 38.100.193.82
ns2.libsyn.com 38.100.193.198
ns3.libsyn.com 69.20.65.139
How to change your DNS on WINXP/2K - use google for other OS's or to look up how to change your hosts file (or wikipedia)

To clarify what Chemda was saying about Spooky's knife in the Crash doc: That footage was of us returning to the park to retrieve the knife, and it wasn't there. I'm afraid Spooky's knife is long gone.

Usually Spooky just cracks a grin in the face of adversity. That day, he did not. We can only hope that the knife's new owner is using it to stab those who deserve a stabbing.
