57: Mommy and Me, Dammit

Because I've only recently jumped on the K&TG bandwagon, I'm going back through the archives.

If you haven't heard this one it is damned funny. Best Clown Monday I've heard. Chemda was in tears at the end and I was laughing out loud.

Great stuff.

I've been doing the same thing, mostly on the weekends when there isn't a show. Anyways I don't know what number but the one where they made fun of Paris Hiltons' podcast was hilarious.

Wow, I just looked, and realized, I don't have very far back to go... I started listening pretty early on.. and I have 93 episodes in my audio folder already. (and I think I had deleted a few) So I probably only have like 20 to listen to...

maybe I'll do it just to say I've listened to every show (except maybe the first hour of the 2nd live show)

"RING!!!!!!!!!! RING!!!!!!!!!!!!! TURN OFF THE SHOW!!!!!!!! HANG UP! JUST HANG UP! RIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!"

A very funny show! Thanks KATG! Once again I'm looking like a madman on the subway laughing to jokes only I can hear.

I was thinking that the reason the dad disappears is that he can finally check out porn on the computer without being interrupted.

I betcha that phenomena of wanting everything to be just right must be a recent development. Too many people watch TV and movies where everything is directed and any mistakes are edited out or re-shot and now they want their events to be just as perfect. And every shot now has to be staged. Are they taking pictures to remember the event or is posing for the pictures the goal?

You ever see guys on vacation with their camcorders where they're recording everything? Rather than seeing the sites through their own eyes, they're taking in the scenery through the camera's viewfinder. What are they going to remember from their vacation? The camcorder? Film a little bit to capture the atmosphere and then put the camera down and enjoy the site. Whenever you're traveling with some friends you're always going to have the guy whos going to want to fidget with the camcorder. Let him! He can lug it around and be your personal vidiographer. Maybe you can even get him to edit it down and make a DVD for you. "Are you bringing your camcorder? Great! You're real good at it. Maybe you can even make one of those cool vacation DVDs for all of us!"

I've never been one for studio shots where everything is posed. The only time you should pose a picture is when you want a group shot since it's almost impossible to take a random picture that shows more than three people facing the right way.

Andrea was so right - the parents were probably pushing Curious George on the kid and he had no choice other than to react. A one year old doesnt care for themes. They'd be more happy with a cracker to chew on.

Next thing you know you'll be entertaining at fetus parties. They'll have themes like "Mozart" since the baby "seems" to kick when they blast Mozart into the womb. You can picture Keith doing "stomach paintings" next and dressing up either as Mozart with a white wig or wearing a set adult diapers that he had to buy from those adult-baby fetish places.

Some parents take that whole talking to their fetus stuff real serious. Yea, everyone does it, but you know youre doing it for yourselves more than for the baby. After all, the baby's developing - they barely understand you when they're six months old, let alone when they're a negative age. Through the uterus and amniotic fluid the most they probably hear is somthing that sounds like the adults in the Charlie Brown cartoons "MmmWawama mmmuhhh." Besides your voice is competing with the sounds of the mother's heartbeat and digestion. I know a couple who've been reading to their baby from day one. I mean, if you want to do this, go ahead. There's probably no harm in it other than being another nutty parent and getting overdosed on "Goodnight Moon" and "Guess how much I love you."
