Problem is both the KATG crew and myself (and whole bunch of others too) are on PCs, not macs, and can't use GarageBand. Audacity cannot export to M4A.
I heard people exporting from Audacity as AIFF/WAV and using iTunes built-in converter to write to M4A. Problem is it doesn't support chaptering this way. Anyone else know a PC free Enhanced Podcast builder? |

What applebucks was talking about is making an Enhanced Podcast. It allows chaptering, remembering play position when returning to the episode, and displaying album art for each chapter of the ep.
The main problem is not only is it a bitch in the technical details from a podcast producer's point of view, but it is also a proprietary Apple format, so people not using iTunes or an iPod cannot use them. Which means an MP3 feed still needs to be provided for everyone else. If anyone has the tools (GarageBand etc) to make M4A/M4B files, make a katg ep and see what us forum members think. Enhanced Podcasts are cool, but unless there's a fandangle file builder out there, it's far to complicated to produce them than it should be. |

Speeding
Chemda was completely correct about the "39 in a 30" scenario. My father's a State Trooper for the state of Texas and will very rarely write a ticket for anything below 15-20 miles over the speed limit. Granted, everyone I know who's been pulled over by my dad have said he's the most laid-back guy. He gives out WAY more warnings than he does anything else. Now, if he's pulled you over more than once, it's a different story.
That's the thing with my dad. He can see someone on the street and say "Wow, I arrested him back in '93. Looks like he hasn't changed much." Who remembers stuff like that? But, he's so good at what he does and he takes the time to make sure he treats each person separately, you can't help but notice. He's never been the kind to stereotype or anything like that and has had very few physical altercations, none of which he started. He's the cop you want to get pulled over by. He's the one who laughs with you about that wife you've got to get home to... even though he knows you're lying! Anyways... not all cops are assholes. Just sayin... |
