I loved this show so much I wanted to eat its first day period. "Don't you dare make her cry ...". Even rewinding to hear Keith's letter readings three times, each time I busted my gut again. Su-fuggin-perb.
And having Patrice present for Days Of Our Spooky was so magnificent, not just for what Patrice brings herself but for the way Chemda acts when she's around. Is there anything hotter in podcasting? Fuck no there isn't. Lawdy lawdy, and to top it all off with the new shiny Spooky he's even intentionally funny now to add to the social autism and tough nerd posturing. There was magic in the room that night, the most entertaining foursome I've ever heard. |

Geez, Spooky has got to move on. That doesn't mean he has to make a point of telling everyone he moved on. That doesn't mean he has to get in the last word with some random dude that likes some chick he likes and claims he doesn't like but they're still best friends. It means he doesn't talk about it, and he talks about the quest for new pussy.
I'd need a few beers to ramp things up, but I want to head out to the city (and tell the long arm what I'd done) and give Spooky the motivational speech of a lifetime. I say that with utmost sincerity, too. My head's been in a similar place before. |

For one guy, talking by himself for an hour, Spook's Oh Canada show is 99% gold. It's a triumph of romantic masculine devastation. There are shows with twice or three times the number of participants and eight times the number of writers out there that aren't three twenty-eighths as compelling as Spooky in this show.
What really makes it so poignant is the way he'll still dive off on his tangents even though his heart is being squeezed out of his chest with all the rage and torment of the dirty, dirty betrayal. How long does he describe the movie trivia game for? It seems four times longer than it needs to be for the relevance it has, but the fact he goes so into detail about it says so much about Spooky. He loved that game and the betrayal was all the more of a twist of the knife because his two betrayers were right there playing it with him. Those cheaters were probably using movies about cheating to try and win the game for themselves but Spook was too blinded by the snuggling to see it. The two-faced fucks. And maybe best of all, in this SITC every cuss word has gravity behind it instead of sounding superfluous and irrelevant. The only real bummer is that it's so far after the fact that some of the power of it is diminished. Oh that vagina. Nevertheless ... aces. Last edited by Bucho; 12-16-2007 at 03:23 AM. |

Hey guys! Loved the episode. Listened to it in the airport on the way back from a week long training in Germany. I looked like a total douche as I was laughing so hard I cried.
Keep it up. Last edited by Emelath; 12-21-2007 at 04:31 AM. Reason: misspell |

The whole neighborhood thinks I’m insane
Today I was walking home listening to this show and at the 54 minute mark they are in the middle of a long story about Spooky’s love-life.
I had been walking into a headwind while the temperature is 5 degrees F. I was sipping on a can of the local equivalent of a Four Loko (Revo – has a Revolver emblem with the slogan “One Shot, One Hit”) to "stay warm." When they started talking about how Jerkoff should be an old Polish name, I fucking lost it. I actually spit my mouthful of bright red alcoholic beverage out and into the wind, then it came right back into my face and glasses. Given the temperature and headwind, the droplets froze before I could wipe it off. So I had to stagger back home with a grin on my face because I couldn’t see shit, and every person I passed stopped to turn and look at me. This show was hilarious.
