big show
I heard any interview with the big show somewhere, I'm thinking NPR or something wierd like that, that he was arrested when he was a kid for kissing a girl who was his age because he was ginormous and the cops assumed he was a pedophile.

when I was a kid, I lived in mexico and the luchas were the best.. all those old wrestlers with masks on! awesome fun.. and it looked so fake, you could see that they didn't kick each other, but we had fun faking it as kids..

I went to Wrestlemania III. That's when I guess I realized it was fake. I didn't really watch it after that. Which is why I did not know who Edge is, but whenever Matt referred to him, as The Edge, I could only think of U2's guitarist sitting in a ring talking like in the video for "Numb." So I was happy for the clarification, despite not being a "wrestling geek." Which is in quotes because I'd also never heard of that either and I think McNally just made that up.

I took a class called "Professional Wrestling as Theatre" in University.
Not even kidding. GENIUS! We read ancient Greek plays, and then watched wrestling matches and analyzed how they used the various story telling techniques. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the 'art form.' Don't get me wrong, I referred to Edge as "Mr. Blonde Cutie Pants Fighter Guy" and I find the fighting thing rather redundant and boring. Except when they brought out the ladder. That was fucking uncalled for! It's so campy and kitschy and inspires so many jawdropping "WTF!?" moments from me that I have to concede that it's kinda awesome.
