I always think it's funny when Keith thinks he's going to get murdered, but does whatever the fuck he wants anyway. When I decide to do something against my better judgement, I just say "fuck it" and commit completely. I haven't been murdered yet, and I think I spend a lot less time worrying about it.
Of course, I've never been to the Ukraine either, maybe murder seems a lot more likely when there are cyrillic characters everywhere. |

Nah - it's because your cards don't support it. When you stick a foreign card in the machine it indicates that the customer has to sign for it. Sure we don't trust you, it just doesn't manifest itself in card-reader behaviour.

Thank God you guys are back safely! I missed you so!
Keith...it sounds to me like you stayed in a hostel. [shrugs] I've only stayed in one once, it was creepy cool. I didn't much care for taking barely warm, no-water-pressure-havin' showers, but the rates were awesome & I made a new parrot friend. Welcome home y'all!!! XOXO!!! |

In America...
In America you bring card to machine... In Russia the machine come to you...
Hey what about the change exchange. I have found (during many a business trip) that in some European countries the clerks will not hand you the change directly to your hand. They place the bills and coins on a plate, and that's when you take your change. They also give you a smarmy look when you hand them the cash directly. Any insight on why they do this? |
