Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember seeing recently that this isn't exactly settled yet. I know I saw a CSPAN clip with Congressmen talking about Girl Talk and his music in detail. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think there's some legal stuff still going on there.

That was a while ago at a congressional hearing. Girl Talk still gets his music out and has even released a new CD album. His last album was available for what ever you named your price. Girl Talk still has yet to hear any legal backlash, still touring with no problems.

Rep. Mike Doyle of Pittsburgh(D-PA) speaks to the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet at "The Digital Future of the United States: Part II-- The Future of Radio".

I think the congressmen brings up some very good points

Yeah, I really liked "Feed The Animals"... but I'm surprised he was able to take money for it. I guess it was more of a donations sort of thing.

Oh, gee! I don't normally check here on weekends 'cuz I don't listen 'til tomorrow, avoiding spoilers and such, but if it's anything like the rant on Ham Radio, it'll be a good one, McNally. And if you wanna come to Ontario, I'm sure I'll be able to set something up here for ya!

Although I kinda get the feeling your thoughts on London are only slightly higher than NYC haha.

I gotta go with Matt on the Coldplay/Satriani song. They share three notes, in order. Listening to this show, I noticed that the Coldplay song uses a minor chord where Satriani did not. I agree. Coincidence.

C'mon, why the fuck would they either want to or need to copy three notes from someone else's song? Are they out of original material? Now they turn to IP theft because they are out of money and desparate?

Not buying it. This lawsuit will be settled out of court or be rejected.

Not that Matt didn't go a bit berserk in there......

Potatoe posted some NY graffiti in the shownotes -- If this is the place I'm thinking of (building near PS1 on the 7 train), I always really liked it. Aspire to this, NY. This building looks cool.

Hmm, you sure about that?

I think THIS is what real art is all about, ya know?
Who needs colors and fancy design when you've got 3-second illegible bullshit.

so vile. I found this kinda shit on the back of our bamboo fence. My dogs feel down on the job.

Speaking of copyright infringing or not art, I like lichtenstein, but he just panted comic panels big and no one complained. Poster artist kozik just stole images from a preston Blair animation book and silk-screened them and no one seems to care about that too.
Personally, I hate when fine arts use comic and cartoon imagery for another reason. It's like, cartoons aren't legitimate art until some fine artist hack says it's legit by painting or silk screening it.
What a world.
