It is not your age that makes me win, it is your douchebaggery comment that show your age. Therefore, I win. If you would have tried to have an adult conversation instead of the veiled asshole comments, then your age would not be an issue.

I did try having an adult conversation. None of the points I made in any of my posts were even replied to, and I think I made a few. Which is fine. I just wanted my opinion out there, but I don't need a debate. What does annoy me, is how my being 22 now gives you an excuse to not take me seriously, and how now everything I've said is immature, and how all of a sudden, you're going to look down on me from your high horse and condescend to tell me I should try having an adult conversation.

All I got from you was 'if you don't think the way I do, you're not living in reality' and 'Man, what a dumbass comment. Don't worry, it's not you're fault you're 22'. Yes, I'm paraphrasing.

By the way, the comment was a joke. As in, it existed for no other purpose than the fact that I thought it would be funny to say. It wasn't veiled in the least. And either way, that one comment shouldn't invalidate the rest of that post. There were points there too. But I guess that one comment so severely offended your intellect and maturity that you couldn't be bothered to read the rest of it.

How about this, why don't you respond to my last post the you would have if I were 32.

If you get this all the time, then it's you.

Shhh. Don't type back yet. Think about that tonight. Then write back tomorrow.

I see it happen to others far more often than I get it myself.

I don't see any reason to wait 24 hours to tell you you're wrong. I considered it, though.

This poll is rigged. Eatspaste is voting with all his aliases to throw off the numbers.

It's not whether you win or lose...

I knew it was all over when he asked me my age. I should've lied. I'll try to remember this for the future.

Yeah, I honestly usually like Matt, but he was very douche-y in this episode. Here's a hint: Saying it with confidence does not make it more right!..No more Bill O'Reilly for you Matt..

And on the tipping note, Amravanti, I'm black and 21, and I can see that your whole argument is weak. First of all, you're exploiting a loophole when you decide to tip only when its convenient to you. That just shows the kind of piece of shit you are. And..Fuck you, get over the fact that you're black, my father was an orphan in Africa, literally living in a mud and wood hut and was able to build a very comfortable life for himself in Canada. If lucks against anyone, its against people like him. So get the fuck over yourself, put in a little effort in your life, stop blaming everyone but your lazy self and start tipping.

It's something I try to avoid, but it's not something I'll apologize for. Those are the nights that you should have had a meal that you can afford, such as fast food.

I do tip fairly well, I think. Generally around 20%, but feel free to assume otherwise, because again, it's not a big deal to me. If you feel that tipping 20% on one trip and 0% on another trip makes sense then you are one confused individual. ...
The guilty party here is any system that allows any employer to pay less than minimum wage...so if you ever find out that a coworker with similar service and skills make more than you, keep your mouth shut. It is the system.

...I mean, why should I tip my waiter when I can't even get a cab in my own city after 6pm? What does that have to do with the waiter? It is the system's fault that you cannot get a cab. Blame it on the system not the waiter. It is that mentality that makes me say you are 22 forget arguing with him. Until you get older and realize that most people do not give a shit if you are black, you will not understand. You not being able to catch a cab has no bearing on if you tip or not. Saying that looks like you are making an excuse. It's like asking a drowning man to save a man on a sinking boat. Or the other way around, whatever. Once again, it is the woo is me, I am black and life is hard. Don't worry, you will grow out of the I am black part and realize that life is hard no matter your race...

Just to be clear, everything from that third paragraph and down was my own personal speculation and insights on the issue, not my own opinion. I did not grow up as a minority, I am not in any way a part of or in agreement with the american black culture I described there. I'm not even sure how accurate it is, I could be way off base with that. It's just what I think might be going on with the whole blacks under tipping thing.

Again, not my opinion. I've hailed less than 5 cabs since I've been here, and I had no trouble doing so. And my only real concept of "the system" and "the man" is what I've heard from others.

To answer the rest quickly before I go to bed:

I feel guilty because I know that generally, a waiter deserves a tip. And so I do what I can. Doesn't make it my job to do so, it makes me a decent person.

I tip 20% more often than I tip 0, so it doesn't average out to 10%, if that's what you were thinking. Especially these days now that I'm making than I was a few years ago, I rarely undertip. But it does still happen occasionally, and I'm okay with that. But yes, I would consider it okay to tip 20 and then 0. Anyone whose average tip percentage falls into the positive is already doing more than he has to, and should be commended for it.

I don't blame waiters for anything, they're innocent. They have it tough, and it's okay to bitch about how few tips you get, everyone bitches about their job, and theirs is harder than most. I'm convinced that they deserve tips, I'm just not convinced that the customer owes it to them.
