Matt, do you really think that Joe Satriani would be suing Coldplay purely for recognition? That just shows how little you know about Joe Satriani, his music and his many fans. What does it matter if Satriani's music doesn't have lyrics, copying the music is just as bad as stealing the whole song. And you honestly wouldn't have a problem with someone taking a movie of yours, changing the start and finish then reenacting the rest? I think that shows more about you than the "copyright" laws you say you know. I'm sure Tarentino would be fine if i changed the start and finish of Pulp Fiction but just reenacted the rest.
