Yeah, I honestly usually like Matt, but he was very douche-y in this episode. Here's a hint: Saying it with confidence does not make it more right!..No more Bill O'Reilly for you Matt..
And on the tipping note, Amravanti, I'm black and 21, and I can see that your whole argument is weak. First of all, you're exploiting a loophole when you decide to tip only when its convenient to you. That just shows the kind of piece of shit you are. And..Fuck you, get over the fact that you're black, my father was an orphan in Africa, literally living in a mud and wood hut and was able to build a very comfortable life for himself in Canada. If lucks against anyone, its against people like him. So get the fuck over yourself, put in a little effort in your life, stop blaming everyone but your lazy self and start tipping. Just to be clear, everything from that third paragraph and down was my own personal speculation and insights on the issue, not my own opinion. I did not grow up as a minority, I am not in any way a part of or in agreement with the american black culture I described there. I'm not even sure how accurate it is, I could be way off base with that. It's just what I think might be going on with the whole blacks under tipping thing.
Again, not my opinion. I've hailed less than 5 cabs since I've been here, and I had no trouble doing so. And my only real concept of "the system" and "the man" is what I've heard from others. To answer the rest quickly before I go to bed: I feel guilty because I know that generally, a waiter deserves a tip. And so I do what I can. Doesn't make it my job to do so, it makes me a decent person. I tip 20% more often than I tip 0, so it doesn't average out to 10%, if that's what you were thinking. Especially these days now that I'm making than I was a few years ago, I rarely undertip. But it does still happen occasionally, and I'm okay with that. But yes, I would consider it okay to tip 20 and then 0. Anyone whose average tip percentage falls into the positive is already doing more than he has to, and should be commended for it. I don't blame waiters for anything, they're innocent. They have it tough, and it's okay to bitch about how few tips you get, everyone bitches about their job, and theirs is harder than most. I'm convinced that they deserve tips, I'm just not convinced that the customer owes it to them. |

As an experiment, make a new name (you have my permission), pretend you're 45, drop some opinions about things that you really believe, and see if people appreciate you.
I guarantee you will again be called an idiot. But we'll see. |

Stop being an idiot.
Okay, I'll try it in a couple weeks then. I don't know if I have any other opinions as unpopular as this one. So the experiment may be tainted in my favour, but we'll see. |

Extremist terrorists are far more evil and full of hate, if they had the resources that the the Nazis had they'd do 10 times worse than Hitlers minions ever did. A lot of the Nazi soldiers were just normal guys swept along in that tide of madness and many of them felt intense shame about it. The religious extremists have blackened hearts and always will.
Speaking of hated filled black hearts, McNally's bit at the end was awesome, so full of drama in that short five minutes. When he finally leaves the festering shithole of NYC in his dust I'm going to miss him on the shows for sure, but I have to be honest that his vitriol only made me want to live in New York for a while even more. I love big dirty cities and there aren't many on the planet bigger than that one. As for Matt, I always like when he's on the show except for when he starts trying to pick on Dina. I don't give a shit that he's being mean, it's just that he's curiously bad at it, like after all the evidence he shows of being a smart guy he suddenly seems like a dumb kid. If you're going to bully or pick on someone on the show you need to be smarter and more entertaining about it or I'm just going to end up pitying you more than your target. Adam, for example, is hilarious at it and understands the art as well as Keith does, but for some reason Matt's firing blanks in that department and that impotence is just unbecoming, and even worse when it's someone who's a great guest for the most part.

Nazi vs. Arab Extremist is a bad comparison to begin with. A better debate would be Nazi extermination of the Jews vs. 9/11. Both are the worst thing either group ever did. On that basis 6 million Jews trumps a few thousand people in NYC. But Nazis are no longer a threat, and terrorists are very much a threat, so I can understand why someone born 20 years ago is more worried about terrorists. It's like comparing the best song from 1945 vs. 2005. Hard to do.
