Concerning Shepard Fairey and the Obama photo, the man who took the picture isn't suing Fairey, it's the AP. When asked about it the camera man
didn't seem to care about suing Fairey.

Honestly I think it's in Fair Use.

But Shepard Fairey is definitely stealing artwork and not doing anything except changing the color or adding a star to it or something real simple, and that is blatant plagiarism. It's trying to make an easy buck without having to actually come up with your own ideas.

Shepard Fairey should be sued.

I understood that the reason for tips in low end diners and restaurants in usa was that the waiters had bad wages. I must admit surprise at this $0 payment and 100% of earnings is from tips. This, to me, sounds insane. Abso-friggin-lutely the restaurant should be responsible for paying the people that work there!

I wanted to tell you about a little different situation here in Norway. I have worked as a bartender (for a student union so it was no pay) and driven a Taxi. Bartenders (normal non-student things) are given a full wage, as are waiters. Taxi drivers earn 23(ish)% of the cabs earning during their shift (the taxi owner's company takes the rest). Even though no people in Norway depend on tips to "pay their bills", it is still normal to tip in restaurants, bars and taxis.

So what in Usa is a crappy system that basically exploits free labor, is abused in Norway for untaxed extra money in pocket. And given that Norway is a very wealthy country, some waiters get a sick amount of tips.

In my humble oppinion, there should be no tipping. Why should I be grateful for you doing your job? I would of course tip at a place where I know the waiters are desperate enough to be taken advantage of in this manner, but I only tip in Norway when I feel I have gotten service beyond what I could expect.

Oh and this crazy system that the menu says $8, but you are expected to pay $13? Luckily tax is include in all prices in Norway so I dont have to do calculus when ordering. Is it so insane to have a system where you pay what it says on the price tag?

Suggested Retail is just that: Suggested. I would think people would love that the American marketplace is becoming more and more like the Arab markets of Jerusalem. Next thing you know we'll have people being jailed for NOT haggling with their waiters!

Not all German soldiers were Nazis and not all Nazis were German soldiers. National Socialists were a political party.
