Damn those glare rays. Not only do they make driving hard, I bet they also cause cancer or something equally annoying.

That's why you have more than one party. The european system isn't all that, but at least we're more resolved on our political stances. I'm a proud left wing liberal nut job.

I have no political party. I think the whole idea is primitive and tribal. If you're a Republican and you don't vote for Republicans, then why are you a Republican? Conversely, if you're a Democrat and you vote Democrat no matter what, then you're just a sheep.

I'll vote for whomever I think is going to do the best job. Right now that's Keith, for the most part.

I've only read the book Wicked, but basically the storyline is that Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) is a misunderstood animal lover whose reputation is destroyed by the corrupt and evil propagandist Wizard, who runs the country with an iron fist. Glinda is a narcissistic little cunt who is simply presumed to be "good" because she's beautiful, and she DID actually steal the ruby slippers that rightfully belonged to Elphaba. And Elphaba is part of a political group that's trying to avert civil war in Oz which the Wizard actually wants to happen, because war would be profitable to him.

So it's not that the Wicked Witch goes evil because she had a bad childhood, there's a bunch of political stuff and the corrupt Wizard spreads lies and makes everyone think she's bad only because she wouldn't fall in line and pretend everything in Oz is all hunky-dory. And the stuff with Dorothy is continued misunderstandings between Elphaba. Elphaba does go a little nuts at the end, but she isn't evil in the book. It pretty much turns our "ugly witch is evil and pretty witch is good" stereotypes right on its head. It's an interesting book.

I've read the book and seen the play, they're totally different.

Pretty much Elphaba(the green witch)'s mother died while having her little sister Nessa (The Wicked Witch of the East). Her father blamed Elphaba for it so he hates her. She can also do random acts of magic so she thinks she's weird until she goes to college where she finds out it is a talent. She then meets Galinda and they become friends. Lots of other things happen but I don't want to give it away. There's also a love story and lots of throwbacks to the movie The Wizard of Oz. It all connects in the end.

Chemda, I think you will like Wicked. Even if you don't like the songs, there is awesome dancing, amazing costumes, and fantastic sets. It's worth it just to go look at all of it. Glinda's outfit when she's in the bubble is amazing and Elphaba's outfit during the second act is great (it costs $11,000!).

Enjoy the show!
