We could also argue that the pupils dilate to make the eyes more prominent to a predator. Or that the vessels dilate to increase oxygen flow to the brain for cognition. Or that fight or flight has a component that leaves a fragrant distress signal. Anyways, it's cool having a neuroscientist on da berds.

Dont neuroscience me too hard... I'm a physiologist with a particular interest in the brain... especially the development of the brain.... *sigh* every time I find a field I'm interested in it seems theres just another bunch of specialisations inside it. One day maybe I'll find myself in a field of research where its just me all alone falling out the bottom of "science".

Kids do seem to be starting puberty earlier then before. If this is a continual progression, boys are going to be shat out of the womb and between getting their ass slapped and their circumcision their balls are going to drop.

I was going to suggest to Michael that he would be able to make extra money using affiliate links from his site for the paid apps, but of course, and i thought that he would already had it (but didn't mention it) because he is extremely smart, he did already have it!
Great idea! |

Pearl Jam fell off because us grunge kids grew out of our angst and so did they. Eddie Vedder's best songs were the ones he sung with the fire in his belly and his voice (Betterman can go and fuck itself in the ass) and once that faded so did their appeal. They're fine players but were never really good enough melodists to sustain their charm once they quietened down into easy listening territory. The main reason though is that they actively shunned the spotlight, doing the minimum of publicity (interviews, music videos, ass-kissing).
Second to The Rolling Stones is U2 as the other band who have managed to shift around their style a little bit, put out patchy or mediocre albums and still stay genuinely huge. Even though Bono has a shitload of haters because he's such a boring mouthy cunt offstage it doesn't seem to hurt him in terms of selling tickets and albums, in fact the noise he makes probably helps keep them seeming relevant. The Stones don't need that political horseshit because as well as being talented songwriters and businessmen their songs are all about fucking and that'll keep them relevant until the end of time. Personally i don't listen to Pearl Jam anymore but i heard a few songs from their latest albums. They don't suck, they're just generic rockers. Vedder still can sing, and once ina while the tunes aren't bad. As a grunge lover i still listen to their old albums, but it would pretty sad if they were still doing the same stuff, especially with all the bullshit neo-gruingers out there like Nickelback or Creed, that turned their sound into a parody.
I like their actual brand of Neil Young-esque rock actually... But yet comparing them to the Rolling Stones or Kiss is blasphemy. The great rockers are special because they are who they are. There could be a thousand Nirvana clopnes, but there will be one real Mick Jagger. Or Iggy Pop. |
