Didn't he just state that he still kind of believed in ghosts?

Atheist or not, you're just trading one religion for another...

The Queen of England shitting her nickers impression would make god laugh... if there is a god... I don't care.... about the god part... I do care about the Queen crapping her undies.... that is epic comedy... godly

He says he can't be sure about the existence of ghosts, which are not necessarily tied to religion (for example, catholicism preaches the existence of angels and demons but is against the supernatural).
Most atheists are against any form of spiritual belief (see Dawkins), but some i've talked to are actually against the idea of a god, but believe in spirits and souls.

I will say this much about keiths religious stance. I can only say that he is neither agnostic or atheist.

He is what we call in my family a recovering catholic.

You can believe ghosts may exist without believing an omnipotent being exists. The only thing that they have in common (the Christian God/Holy Spirit etc and "Ghosthunters" type Ghosts, in this case) is that we can't see them. It doesn't sound like Keith believes ghosts created us or have control over our lives. Just that they exist in some form. His belief in ghosts and non-belief in God don't really contradict each other.

I believe spirits of some sort may exist. Not the soul of some person that died and is hanging around to scare us or fuck with us, but some kind of being that science will eventually detect and observe. Ghosthunters is bullshit, but there's got to be something. Parallel universes/alternate realities... those would count.

More like a "been there done that understand the vacillation" I'd guess.

Dina, as always, said it best. If you're from a strict catholic family you dont become an atheist as easily as everyone else. Usually it takes time. I've had a similar process myself. As a kid i was an altar boy, i went to church every sunday. I grew up and i thought the whole thing was dumb, but i wasnt sure because my whole family got the thought that if you doubt god you go to hell carved in my head. I grew up a bit more and after thinking it through, i decided to be atheist.

Recovering catholic it's a perfect expression.

Not a maybe at all. It is an explination. Being another recovering catholic I can see. You are so botched having religion Thrust on you at a young age......especially being a catholic. You have no shot to actually want to believe.

I am pretty sure recovering catholic is an actual thing cause my therapist said that is what I am.

This is really funny to me, if there are actually rules to being an atheists. If atheists are unaccepting of each other based on the degree of what's possible in the afterlife, you think it would just be black and white 'there is either a God, or there is no God' but no so many layers!!!

I think I believe in Greek Mythology, I like the idea of many Gods all butting heads with each other (have to use emoti-cons after this show)
