Wish I could have joined in the contest. Sounds like it was good fun. Now I'm really hungry for a burger...
Cold cheese wasn't a problem.

I agree my burger was just about well done compared to everyone else's, and I'm not a fan of things well done, but my burger was the one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had. So I guess I like well done, idk.

I had a great time yesterday! And yes, I took it seriously...but not TOO seriously, of course. I was excited about cooking and being in a competition. I even got that little flutter in my stomach! I'm just happy I didn't burn myself b/c I was a little tipsy (thanks to the kegerator)! Keith was just trying to get me drunk so I'd LOSE!

The only person that I wouldn't have minded beating me was Jeremy. His burger was delicious. But not only that - it was different. More original. And that cheese was just....beyond. I can't even...

Pat Dixon's was also a great burger. But it was too traditional for me. Definitely good if you're going to hang out at a buddies house...but for a competition, you should bring out the big guns.

Mike...I can't judge the tastiness of yours b/c I never got to yoink a bite. But, I am a fan of bacon and mushrooms, so I'm sure it was good.

I can't wait for the Chili-Off! Not sure if I want to enter or judge. I'll have to see if I come up with any good ideas.

My burger was:

5 oz patty of:
1 part beef chuck
1 part beef sirloin
1 part lamb shoulder
All fresh ground and hand mixed.
Salted on both sides right before cooking.
Grilled to an internal temp of 135F

The bun was lightly grilled chibatta roll.

The cheese was a shredded smoked gouda.

There was also a homemade white truffle mayo under the patty.
