In response to the question proposed by Keith during the show: Keith, you took the discussion to a dark place in my opinion. I know you play it up for the mic and rock the house with jokes on every topic, but was Chemda in on the joke this time? It was the same infuriating circular arguments and defensive over-reactions as in Keeping it Real.

Most listeners seem to love these fights and I'm glad I heard it, but too much cringe for me to go back for a second listen.

That said, Party! Super Party!

Drinking a lot just makes you a problem drinker. You can't be considered an alcoholic until it starts to interfere with day to day living of your life.

Missing or showing up late to work
Loss of family or friends
ect

Binge drinking was originally defined as "A period of two or more days in which someone neglects all other responsibilities to drink." It got changed to that whole 3 drink thing so we could sell it to highschool kids.

Brolo is on tomorrow... A P!SP! is almost inevitable...

(Even though i kinda think that sweet brolo would sip quietly, weeping on the inside, and lovingly support keith, if he decided to get sober...)

About 6 months ago, my father went to a Bob Dylan concert. He's been a fan since the beginning (my father will be 57 this year) and was elated that he was going to preform in our city.

Dylan never faced the audience, slurred and mumbled through the lyrics. My father, being under the influence of alcohol and disappointment of the behavior on stage, stood up and yelled "C'mon Zimmerman, you can do better than that! Get off the stage Zimmerman if you're gonna be an ass!" (Zimmerman is Bob Dylan's real last name).

This almost got him kicked out (and I mean, it was warranted); he was told that if he wanted to stay he would have to sit by security for the rest of the concert.

My father just left in disgust. He wasn't going to just let the "awe of legend" be the determining factor for him to stay.

She doesn't seem to be the type to harp on things, and since this is still an issue, 4-5 years later, I'd say its a problem.

By Keith's reaction though, I doubt any change will take place, or if it does, it won't last long, especially with special events coming up.
Agreed.

And Keith was definitely being defensive.

Agreed on all counts
Keith took it to a bad place, and I doubt I'll listen to this episode again, it made me cringe and cry a little inside. It's just sad that Keith hasn't changed since 'Keeping it Real'

I listened more carefully to the show. He was defensive. Chemda told him what she thought in the sweetest way. And if she says that his health is deteriorating, that's what it is. Keith, please, just think about it.

It was sad how defeated Chemda sounded on the drinking issue.

CAGE Questions

According to some answering yes to 2 of the following questions, you could have a drinking problem.

1. Have you ever felt you should cut down on your drinking?

2. Have people annoyed you by criticizing your drinking?

3. Have you ever felt bad or guilty about your drinking?

4. Have you ever had a drink first thing in the morning to steady your nerves or get rid of a hangover (eye-opener)?

I think this test is a little unfair. I've been listening to Keith and the Girl quite some time and I've heard these interventions before. I do believe that Keith will back off for a while and slowly ramp up to his current level of drinking. This will trigger another intervention from Chemda. I predict we will have another show just like this one in about 9-12 months.
