From what I've heard he's a drinker, he's not an alcoholic. Maybe he drinks too much. Been there, done that. But if you start throwing out the term alcoholic you miss the point from the beginning.

Do not get offended, but i seems that you have a misunderstanding of alcoholism. The symptoms you're describing are the ones of a very advanced state of it. But having a drinking problem, being a hard drinker, drinking constantly, is alcoholism. You dont have to be nearly dead to have a problem to deal with. And, as i said, i was an alcoholic, so i'm not just talking nonsense.
