So there have been other female talk show hosts before Ellen that did not have a lot of negativity come out. As mentioned-Oprah is a huge one-I believe she was one of the first, definitely the first black woman talk show host. I’m sure people would have been itching to find anything to skewer her with. Rosie O’Donnell... there’s a reason why Ellen is getting hit so hard.
In terms of accidentally sexting-I’m so paranoid I triple check before I send them and any dirty pictures I send I immediately delete off my phone. I have accidentally sent an I love you to a co-worker because her name is JUSTINE and my husband’s name is Justin. We’ve worked together so long it is a joke that we laugh off. Totally relate to the phlebotomist thing - I had to have weekly blood draws for a while when I was sick and I'd just tell them to take my hand, quit wasting both our time.
"But doesn't it hurt?" I literally don't even care just get it over with. The only time I got an easy arm blood draw every time was when I was pregnant, because you have a higher blood volume. |

And the truth is it doesn’t really hurt it just skeeved me out. When I was in the hospital after open-heart they had to stick needles in me all the time. They went for my stomach for a while. It really is easier when I’m just cool with it. I was ready to be poked so it was fine. Months later at a routine check they put a line in me and I fainted. Wasn’t ready and got myself too amped up.
