I don’t have a negative shadow in my head. Really.
I remember having it the past, but we became friends and now we work together.
I know this doesn’t make me very popular but I can tell myself “I will do my best and it will be probably 80 % good at least. That’s enough”
Then I do a thing and land somewhere between 80 and 95%.

But I still have the tendency to focus on future possible catastrophes and create lots of fear by it in me. My therapy was very much about that. My thoughts can run wild. ( it tends to end with everyone around me dying.) Control issues.

A narcissist doesn’t love themselves really.

Good, Chemda just said it too. Happy birthday Chemda!

Damn. I like the success rate. I'm probably somewhere between 70 and 89%.

If someone is interested in having the negative shadow less, try this.
DONT try to silence him. Say, thank you for trying to protect me from disappointment. I heard you. I will be able to handle it if it doesn't work out. Im ok, not a genius, but also not bad.

The day after Thanksgiving I was in the car with my sister and I asked her, "do you think dad's a narcissist?" She said, "no, I just watch him to see if he's drinking and acting weird". All our life he would go out into the garage and come back smelling like alcohol. He would always drink secretly, never in front of us but his mood and character would always change. I dreaded the weekend.

This past Thanksgiving, I think he was buzzing, not sure.. but the day after he was playing music on the TV and we all, my mom, sister and I were taking turns putting something on, to share and spend time together... everytime we'd put something on he'd only let about a minute play and then switch it to something he wants. Hes always been this way for as long as i can remember.

Chemda saying egomaniac and describe it made something click. He's not a full narcissist cause he's not completely gone but a low grade one maybe? But definitely an egomaniac. He always needs to be #1. Almost to the point where it comes off as selfish

Goddamn Chemda you're good.

The cream cheese discussion made me laugh. It's one of my food quirks is that I actually love Philadelphia cream cheese. I will literally cut a bar in half and just stick a fork in the half and eat it. I know, it freaks out my coworkers too sometimes. But it's just good.

On the other hand I don't particularly like cheesecake. But that's partly because I just don't like sweet things in general.
