If the cop did not order you to get out of the car stay in the car Right Wrong or Otherwise. When stopped by the police on the side of the road it is not the time to have confrontational discussions or make any sudden unauthorized moves.

I have decided I am never again stopping on a shoulder, it's simply too dangerous. If a cop wants to give me a ticket, he/she can wait until the next opportunity to pull off into a rest area, parking lot, etc. I think that also gives a cop a minute to think about what he/she is doing. At one point in the clip, he practically throws her out in the middle of the road. Dumb.

A cop had to tell me to stay in the car when I was 16 because I got out to talk to him. He advised me that I could be shot for getting out of my car, and let me go.

I had a similar incident around that age.
I picked up a friend and we were on our way to school. Cop flashes his lights behind me. I pull over. We sit there waiting for a full 15 minutes for him to get out out and come up to the window. His lights are off, after talking a few minutes like 2 dumb kids we talk about it and we're like, maybe he changed his mind?

So I start the car up and go. Of course he turns on the lights again and follows. I stop and we wait again like almost another 10 minutes. Finally I get out to go ask what's up and he gets on his speaker saying to get back in the vehicle. I get back in after a few more minutes he finally comes up to talk to us. Angrily yelling at me for first going after the wait and then later getting out of the car. I explained why, he kind of grumbles and yells at us some more.
The whole reason I got pulled over.... a fix-it ticket. My tail light was cracked.
Since that first experience with one, I've always hated cops. =)

my friend visited a cousin in america and was pulled over by a cop. being from a country that is not policed by gun wearing nut jobs he went to get out of the car to see what the problem was. fortunatley his cousin grabed him before he got his head blown off. you should warn people at customs they are entering the land of the freak and the home of the early grave!
