What a privileged perspective, to not have been effected by any improvements or setbacks that so many populations have experienced in our lifetimes. How sad to have such a lack of empathy for others who are also just trying to "make the best of it."

Yes, things are a mess. Always have been, always will be. I have little faith in our government. But progress is staggered, and many of us refuse to throw our hands up, whether the mess hits us or not.
