Anybody else loathe their job?
Because of the shortage of teaching jobs in Ontario, I couldn't get a full time position and had to pick up a second job this school year.
I'm a manager at a coffee shop/delicatessen and NO I have absolutely no respect for myself. I've worked at restaurants since I was a teenager and it gets progressively worse as I get older. I fired six fucktards last week leaving us kind of short staffed I guess, and now I've got to work extra hours this week. Kill me now... Anybody care to talk shit about their crap-tacular jobs?!? Restaurants or other. |

Oh god yes. I am an auto mechanic trying to break into the field after doing some small engine repair work and 2 yrs of school, only to find nothing. The dealerships are all closing, their techs are taking all the other tech jobs around so there is nothing open. So this leads me to picking parts for a manufacturer of high end airplanes, as a temp, making shit money.
The only good thing....I get to listen to my iPod all night, so KATG has been my savior in my craptastic job.

Gee golly this is a well timed thread. Today I started my internship that I've done twice before. I am basically the office bitch and I have to do menial tasks. Basically I do things on excel and stuff with banking acocunts and just like yall I would DIE without my iPod and its helping me catch up on old KATG episodes. So ummm there's that at least

I have two jobs. Insurance during the day and newspapers at night.
I can't say that I hate either of them really, and I am fortunate to be working unlike alot of other people. The part I hate is that neither of them pays me enough to not need the other one. At least as far as second jobs go working for a newspaper is pretty ok. I am completely by myself, I drive a company truck so I'm not out any gas or wear and tear on my vehicle, and I listen to my iPod all night. If it wasn't for this job I actually probably never would have gotten into KATG or podcasting at all since the rest of my day doesn't really leave me much time to be listening to anything that I have to actively pay attention to.

Try working at Chuck E Cheese's. I worked there when I was 16 and fighting with co-workers and customers, I mean guests, was 100% acceptable.
Other than that my job's not bad. It can get boring but I have internet and BS to keep me going, plus I can take smoke breaks as needed for the most part. Doesn't hurt that it's my family's business, guess that's kinda important to mention. Even so, some days I just want bang my head into a wall. |

I am an apt complex manager. I HATE MY JOB. But I do get rent and utilities paid by the company and the apartment is really nice. Honestly, three or four tenants are ruining this experience for me. What I like about this job is constantly learning about the laws as they pertain to landlord/tenant and fair housing. I used to work in hotels, and I miss that level of interaction with the public. However, I understand there are greater things in my life than just work, and this place is close to everything I want to do and allows me no commute. And, since I have my own office, I get to listen to the show and be on the forums as often as I want with no one looking over my shoulder.
