thank god for this job i cant stand

I hate my job just like everybody else out there. But on the other hand I am so grateful that I am still employed. My girlfriend lost her job as a graphic artist over 6 months ago. I have no idea how she is holding it together.

Anyway, the thing I like most about this show is that keith and Chemda worked hard and now are fully self employed. I started my first business in college. When I moved to ATL I let myself get caught in the rat race to pay the bills.

Stuck in the rat race, the cubicle wars. So now I am really back at it. Trying to put together a new business. It takes time and hard work but in a few years I should be good to go.

If you have a job suck it up or quit and find a new one. And if you're out of work I feel for you. Tomorrow is another day and keep persisting until you succeed.

I love my job but fuck me the place I work for are annoying cunts sometimes. I work for a nanny/childcare agency and if they have shifts that they can't give away they'll trick you into taking them. The amount of times I've said yes to work and then get told "Oh the kid is autistic" or being told its a 9month old baby instead of a 9week old. Fucking obnoxious and I was talking to one of the other nannies today and they apparently do it to everyone. They didn't tell her when she agreed to work that the baby was being taken away from the mother that afternoon.

I busted my ass all day at a warehouse job all through high school and college, so the position I have now is a fucking cakewalk in comparison. Sure, it's not always fun and it's not always perfect... but if I ever have a bad day I just think back to 5 years ago when I was driving a forklift, packing shit on pallets by hand and loading trucks in incredibly muggy 100 degree weather.
2nd.

There are a lot of people at my job that do nothing but bitch about how shitty it is here, and I can hardly help telling them to get out if they don't like it.

Granted, I don't know how different departments operate, and there's always the day that you're frustrated about a situation so you have to vent with your colleagues, but when everything you talk about is what's wrong with your employer, maybe it's time to move along. And it's not like it's the economy that's keeping people here, a lot of people at my work have been here 20, and 30 years and they apparently hated it every single day. 20 years is a long time to think of a solution.

I stock overnight - the job is so easy - I used to listen to KATG to kill time, but now I just rely on a local radio show to get me through the night.

But no, I don't loathe my job - it's easy, allows me to think about my artwork all day, and the people that work their are cool.

I am the only black guy as well, so I can do no wrong, lol...

Seriously, if you hate your job do yourself and favor and use some of that energy figuring out a way to do something else.

Gee, why didn't we think of that? Maybe some of us know making this choice is better than the alternative, which is less money, a longer commute, less opportunities for advancement in our respective fields, less opportunities to spend quality time with friends or family, or unemployment. We're all aware we have choices and our choices have consequences.

How many of us worked shitty jobs because it freed up our schedule to take care of what was really important at the time (school, kids, other labors of love)? I'd like to think that even as I was bitching about my shitty jobs I had before this one, I was at least able to see what it gave me, whether it was important for my resume, or flexible so I could attend class. I'm sure I didn't all the time, but I do remember that when I did I had a lot easier time going to work knowing that my priority at the time was not to have a nice manager, it was to finish college or whatever.

With my co-workers, it's not the bitching that bothers me, it's this helpless attitude that they couldn't possibly figure out a way to change their situation. The fact that they refuse to acknowledge that they're the people keeping themselves in their shitty job. The fact that they're not trying to move on if they hate it so much.

I understand that. It's like everyone else is responsible for the fact that they are in that job and continue to choose to get up for it every day, bitch about it all day, then go home, only to repeat the cycle tomorrow. No one is a victim.
