Or just get over the fact that no matter what you say, doi or achieve, your mother and father are not going to like you or accept you.

It's not sad, bitter or jaded, it's a part of life.

My father always openly despised me, to me it was a big deal. We became estranged and he didnt know much about me. YThe few things he said were variations of "youìre a fag" " a pussy" or "a loser". When he met a couple of my girlfreinds, he opnely made moves on them. Recently he got diagnosed woth his third possible cancer. In th possibility of sudden death i tried to rebuild a relationship with him, yet it turned to shit as soon as the results were good.

As soon as you get over the fact that blood relatives arent important and your family is the one you build, eventually (friends included) the better you'll livwe with yourself.

Obviously if your doctors told that's how you use them - fine but don't play around with prescription meds please

Oh and if you feel like everybody else is too stupid to understand you when you use slightly more complex terminology like "psychosomatic" and you need to explain them to us you might want to google how they are spelled
The zoloft is daily, the other one is meant to be taken before social situations.

and yes, I know my spelling is bad, i'm on IE and not firefox...so yeah...

As far as only feeling psychosomatic effects with the zoloft, that's a lot of what makes medication work. Depression isn't only a chemical imbalance, it's also a mental (well, obviously) thing. In addition, you're NOT GOING to feel much of an effect until a few weeks into taking it.

That was already stated. Listen to what we're saying to you.

Zoloft has been around forever. It's very similar to Prozac in a lot of ways. Its main indication is for depression, but like many meds they found that it helps a lot with general anxiety for many people.

I was diagnosed as bipolar a while back, and this was the first anti-depressant I was prescribed. It didn't work for me the way it should have. I went from fairly stable to pretty manic over the course of a few days. On the other hand, it has worked very well for my fiance.

Lorazepam is the generic name for Ativan. It's a benzodiazaprine which is the same class as Xanax, Valium and Klonopin. The main difference between these drugs is the speed of activation and duration of the effects. You'll probly sleep very well with it. I was also prescribed this, but unfortunately for me I can't handle any benzodiazaprine.

Do what was mentioned earlier in the thread. Keep in mind how you feel, and if anything doesn't seem right you should speak with your prescriber. Before driving or doing anything at all while on the lorazepam you should know how it affects you or have someone that can drive for you. Also keep in mind that Zoloft usually takes a week or two to fully build up the dose in your blood stream.

If you need any proof of why you need this medication, re-read your OP.

Seriously.

I can understand about not wanting to tell your mom and yeah she might end up blaming herself, that's a possibility. But it might also help the both of you, she's been through similar things so she could really be a strong emotional help, you're going through it, so it might help her feel less "alone" in it...maybe (I don't know, I don't know your parents) she feels like the "crazy" one in the family...knowing you're a "little crazy" too might help her as much as it can help you.

There are few people in this world that would do anything for you, and sometimes there aren't any people like that at all, if your parents are the type to support you, then take advantage of it man. You need it.
